GP-88 ran an exhibition at the Wildwood Hydrofest on Sunday. The boat looked great, but upon returning to the pits the crew found a broken rocker and metal shavings in the oil filter. There is not enough time to solve the engine problems before this weekend’s World Championships in Morgan City, La. Tom believes they have identified the cause of the recent mechanical failures and should have them...

More wind and rain didn’t stop the GPs from putting on a great show. Excellent heats all weekend with deck to deck racing that had the large crowds excited. The water was very rough but Tom was able to pilot GP-88 to two firsts and a second in the qualification heats. In the final GP-88 and GP-77 battled for the lead the whole race but both had jumped at the start making GP-7 the winner. Tom...

In St-Félicien GP-88 was 4th in the time trials, got a first and second in qualifying, but unfortunetly finished forth in the final. The boat continues to run well, as seen in this video of heat 1B.

The Eastern Divisional Championship was held at this years Quake on the Lake in Waterford, Michigan. Great racing all around despite some less than ideal conditions on Friday and Saturday. GP-88 ran an impressive lap average of 129 mph in a heat 3A victory but surcumed to another broken blower belt in the first turn of the final. Hoping for a good weather and race weekend in St. Félicien on August...

We had a great day of racing in Valleyfield on Friday with a first place finish in heat 1A. Saturday was rainy but we got off heat 2A with a second place finish. Sunday was very windy but conditions were okay for the GPs, unfortunately the blower broke and we were unable to finish the heat. Tom is busy putting another blower on the engine he had replaced for Valleyfield. Leaving Thursday for...

Syracuse was the site of a very bad crash when Jimmy Shane in GP-7 hit Pierre Meheau in GP-46 who’s boat had died at the end of the race. Thankfully they are both expected to fully recover. GP-88 continued to run very well finishing a close 2nd in the final to GP-93. A few weeks off before Valleyfield.

I had some trouble making sure the on board camera was ready in the other heats so this is the only one from the race in Brockville. We broke a blower belt in the first turn of the final. Up until then the boat ran very well, even in pretty rough water.

We broke in the new motor at Long Sault in 2 qualification heats. It was snowing at one point before the Sunday heat. They called the race after a long rain delay and sure enough there was a lengthy break in the weather. Brandon Kennedy lent us one of his Tachyon cameras, in the video is a great shot where Cluade Bergeron rockets by in the new GP-444.

Not Much News
Updated the website although you probably won’t notice the changes as they are mostly coding improvements (I’m learning). Tom is racing the new JS Rolling Thunder in Florida. Not long until the Grand Prix season begins.

Excellent weekend of racing in Long Sault, Ontario. The sun was in limited supply but that could not put a damper on the last GP race of 2008. We made the final, finishing second after the second place boat was disqualified.
Update: Eventually ruled to finish 3rd.

It was a tough weekend in Cambridge, Maryland. We threw a blade on the prop but made the final only to not finish. Electrical problems are the issue but we should have them solved for Long Sault.

Valleyfield was great as always. A penalty and various problems with the boat kept us out of the final. Over the weekend there was some good racing as Tom continues to hone his GP driving skills.

Great racing in Brockville, Ontario. The boat ran well in time trails and qualifying on Saturday. Sunday’s qualifier began well but steering problems arose in the second turn. After rapid repair the boat was ready go, but wind prevented further racing. The boat was returned to the water for a final testing run. We are left waitng for Valleyfield and a chance to race in a final.
